A rebuilt app, and an honest answer when we cannot help

The app is now five tabs. Home is where you stand: whether you are available, your pause control, and a way to record a donation you made somewhere else. Donate is the requests you can answer, My asks is the ones you raised, and Profile holds your details, your record and your password.
When you accept a request, you get one screen for it: the hospital, a call button, directions, and only the actions that make sense right then. Tell the requestor you are on your way, record that you donated, say the blood bank could not take your blood, or release your slot so someone else can go.
Being turned away at the blood bank is now its own answer. It is not a donation and not a no-show, so no rest period starts and nothing is held against you.
This replaces what v0.32 promised below. We no longer hold a request that cannot reach anyone. If too few donors who can give to your patient are reachable near that hospital, we tell you on the first or second screen, before you fill in the form, and we raise nothing. You get blood banks near the hospital, the option to be told when we can serve your city, and the question that often changes the answer: whether the hospital will accept a replacement donor of any blood group.
Donated outside BloodKonnect? Tell us from the pause sheet. You say when you donated, and your rest period is worked out from that date, not from the day you told us.
Your own request now shows when you raised it, a countdown to the moment the search widens, and how far it has reached.
The getting started guide, the privacy policy and the terms have been rewritten to describe the app as it actually is, including exactly what deleting your account erases and what it keeps.

You can raise a request anywhere in India

Until now, you could only raise a blood request in a city that already had a large number of registered donors, which meant most people were turned away. That rule is gone.
We now check who can actually help your patient: donors with a matching blood group, near the hospital you named, who are free to donate right now.
At the time, a request that could not reach anyone was held rather than refused, and we alerted the first matching donor who registered near that hospital. That is no longer how it works: see v0.33 above.
Before you submit, we tell you honestly whether your request can reach enough donors to be worth raising, so you know whether to also share it with your own network. We describe the reach in words rather than publishing donor numbers.
If the hospital accepts a replacement donor of any blood group, you can say so, and we will alert every available donor near you instead of only matching groups.

Clearer donation rules, and a place for everyone

Blood donation rules on the app now follow NBTC (National Blood Transfusion Council) guidelines for India, not WHO. The rest period after donating is now 90 days instead of 56.
Before you register, you can see the minimum requirements to donate: age, weight, haemoglobin and health checks, all in one place.
Cannot donate right now? If the reason is temporary, like a recent tattoo or a course of antibiotics, register anyway and use Pause to mute alerts until you are eligible again. Each reason now shows how long to wait.
Cannot ever donate? You can still register to raise requests for family and friends, and share requests with your network to help find a donor.
When you accept a request, you now confirm you meet the donation criteria first, so fewer people are turned away at the blood bank.

Invite friends with your own link

Every donor now has a personal invite link on their profile. Share it on WhatsApp or anywhere in one tap.
Your profile shows how many people have joined through your link, so you can see the lives you are helping reach.
The more donors you bring in, the more requests we can answer. Top inviters will be recognised.

Easier donor discovery by city

Find a Donor and the Stats page now show the top 10 cities up front, so you are not scrolling forever.
Search for any city, even one we do not cover yet. If there are no donors there, you can invite people and share to help us reach it.

Smarter requests and a fresh new look

Enter a pincode and we now fill in your city automatically, on registration, blood requests, and your profile.
Registration is shorter: city and pincode are now a single step.
If your city does not have enough active donors yet, the request page now gives you real options: write to us, the government eRaktKosh portal, nearby blood banks on a map, and a 'notify me when my city goes live' button.
A new home page that leads with our mission, plus quick links and our LinkedIn and Instagram.

Coordinate after a match, and a Getting Started guide

Once a donor accepts your request, you and the donor can now see each other's number to coordinate timing.
New Getting Started guide that walks you through both donating and requesting blood.
Cleaner home and stats pages that only show the numbers that matter.
