Register as a donor, install the app, and enable notifications so you never miss a life-saving request near you.
When someone near you urgently needs blood, we send you a push notification. If notifications are off, you will never know. Tap "Allow" when prompted — it is the single most important thing you can do after registering. You can also install BloodKonnect as an app on your phone for the fastest access.
Visit bloodkonnect.in and tap the red Login / Register button. You have two ways to sign up:
Tap "Continue with Google" to sign in with your Google account. Fastest option — your name and email are pre-filled.
Enter your 10-digit mobile number and choose a password. Tap "Create an account" if you are new. Your phone number is your identity on BloodKonnect — it is how hospitals and requestors reach you.
After signing in, you will be taken through a quick 7-step registration. It takes about a minute.
Enter your name and date of birth. You must be 18 or older to donate blood. The Next button stays disabled until a valid date is entered.
Select your blood group from the 8-option grid (A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, AB-). This determines which requests you are matched with using the full medical compatibility matrix.
Start typing your city name — suggestions appear as you type. If your city is not in the list, just type the full name and proceed. Any Indian city works.
Enter your 6-digit Indian pincode. This is the most important field — it determines how close you are to hospitals requesting blood. Requests are matched by pincode proximity, not city name.
Add your email so we can reach you if push notifications stop working. You can skip this step — tap Next to continue.
Choose how far you are willing to travel to donate. Four options:
Set a weekly notification cap (5, 10, or 20 per week) to control how many requests you receive. Then enter your mobile number and choose a password for future logins. Finally, tick the checkboxes to accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, then tap Register as Donor.
This is the most important step. Without notifications, you will never know when someone near you needs blood. Without installing the app, you will have to open your browser every time.
After registration, you will see a banner at the bottom: "Install BloodKonnect — Works offline. Faster access. No app store needed." Tap Install. The app will be added to your home screen just like any other app. You will see a "BloodKonnect App installed" confirmation at the top of your screen.
Immediately after installing, a second banner appears: "Get notified for blood requests — We'll alert you the moment a request near you matches your blood group." Tap Allow. Your browser will ask for confirmation — tap Allow again. This is what makes the whole platform work.
After registration, you land on your dashboard. This is your home base. Here is what you will see:
A green card showing your name, blood group, city, and pincode. "Available now" means you are active and can receive blood request notifications.
The big red button. Tap it when you or someone you know needs blood. Fill in the blood group, urgency, hospital details, and submit. Nearby compatible donors are notified immediately.
I Donated — tap after you donate to start your 56-day rest period (you will not receive requests during cooldown). Pause — temporarily stop receiving notifications (7, 14, 28, or 56 days). You can resume anytime.
Live feed of open blood requests matching your blood group and location. Tap any request to see full details and accept.
When someone needs your blood group near your pincode, here is what happens:
A push notification arrives on your phone with the blood group needed, hospital name, and city. Tap it to open the app.
See full details: hospital name, address, urgency level (routine / urgent / critical), and how many units are needed. A map link shows directions to the hospital.
A consent modal explains that your phone number will be shared with the requestor so they can coordinate. Confirm to accept. The requestor is immediately notified that you are on the way.
Travel to the hospital, donate blood, and tap "Yes, I donated blood!" in the app. Your 56-day cooldown starts automatically. The requestor can also confirm from their side.
Use the bottom navigation bar to move between sections:
Your status pill, quick actions (Request Blood, My Alerts, Find a Donor), and platform reach stats.
Full control center: availability, request blood, record donations, pause notifications, and see nearby requests.
Quick access to the blood request form and donor search.
Answers to common questions about eligibility, myths, before/after donation, and how the platform works.
Your past donations and request activity.
The Find a Donor page shows a live directory of cities with active donors, along with the blood groups available in each city. No personal information is shown — only aggregate counts. If a city has fewer than 5 donors of a blood group, the exact count is hidden for privacy.
You can also visit /stats to see national platform metrics and per-city blood group coverage with gap highlighting.
